Employee and ambulance tracking, nursecall system, emergency, alarms and security

Hospitals and nursing homes use 2-way radios to improve communication between their teams.

TABLETmedia’s solutions increase the effectiveness of those devices while improving employee accountability and safety. For instance:

  • Nursecall systems alert nurses when a patient presses a button by their bed or when it’s time to administer medicines
  • Track the location of ambulances and communicate with them via radio dispatch
  • Code blue, red, or black notifications are instantly communicated to radios via PTT voice and PA announcements, radio text messages, email/SMS, and telephone calls. Sirens also can be activated and doors opened.
  • Pagers are replaced by radios as integrated voice and text devices

Our server ties into nurse call and building management software, fire panels, HVAC, weather channels, and other sources. Notifications are then sent to:

  • Digital radios as text messages
  • Analog and digital radios as voice announcements
  • Emails and SMS
  • Telephones using text-to-speech
  • Open gates or activate sirens

By pressing dedicated buttons, the radio can also turn on pumps and other equipment.

Location Tracking

Whether you need to track ambulances, maintenance personnel, or security guards across town or campus, our cloud-based GPS solution makes it easy. Multiple users can access maps and reports from any desktop or mobile device browser.

In addition, using Apple’s iBeacons, we can also determine employee’s indoor location. This is typically used to track security around their routes and send a notification indicating the last known location in case of an emergency.


TABLETmedia’s console and thin clients allow traditional PTT-based dispatching to reach groups or individual radios from desktops or notebooks.

TAdditional features include tracking radios via GPS, activating and monitoring equipment via telemetry, handling telephone calls, and recording PTT calls.

PBX Integration

Through our telephone interconnect, we connect to the property’s VoIP telephone system to:

  • Make calls to groups and individual radios
  • Dial internal or external telephones from the radios
  • Automatically dial security or 911 in case of an emergency

The quality of telephone calls is very clear and responsive, and typically telephone callers are not even aware that they are talking to someone on a PTT device.

Job Tickets

Job Ticketing is all about keeping track of tasks assigned to facilities and engineering employees, which we handle via our browser-based job ticketing and webmail messaging solutions.

The typical functions supported include:

  • User sign-in to enable users to pool the radios
  • Replying to job tickets
  • Create job tickets
  • Receive and reply to text messages
